Maria Maria와 함께 1999년~2000년 사이의 라틴 음악 전성 시대를 상징하는 곡이며,[1] 동시에 산타나의 최전성기를 상징하는 곡이다. 동시에 1990년대와 20세기의 마지막, 2000년대와 21세기의 시작을 모두 대표하는 기념비적인 곡이기도 하다.머라이어 캐리와 JAY-Z의 "Heartbreaker"를 밀어내고 1999년 10월 넷째 주부터 2000년 1월 둘째 주까지 빌보드 핫 100에서 12주 연속 1위라는 대기록을 달성했다. 이 시점은 그 어떤 때보다도 미국 대중음악계가 복잡하던 시절이었지만,[2] 산타나는 이 곡 하나로 1958년~2018년 빌보드 핫 100 올타임 차트에서 2위에 오르는 등 대중음악 역사상 최고에 달하는 히트를 친다.[3]

이 노래가 나온지 11년 뒤인 2010년 산타나와 롭 토마스는 다시 만나 전설의 명곡인 크림의 Sunshine of Your Love를 커버했다.
