1. 개요
마이클 잭슨의 싱글이며 그의 8집 앨범 Dangerous의 세번째 싱글로 1992년 4월 9일에 발매되었다. 본래 마돈나와 듀엣으로 부르기로 한 노래였지만, 사정상 폐기되었다. 여기에는 여러가지 설이 있는데, 녹음하기 전 마돈나가 이 곡의 스케쥴을 주변인들에게 이야기를 하고 다니는 바람에 비밀리에 깜짝 싱글 컷을 하려던 마이클이 실망하여 폐기했다는 설도 있고, 마돈나가 남성 역할, 마이클 잭슨이 여성 역할의 보컬을 하면서 성 역할 바꾸기의 설정을 도입하려다가 마이클이 반대해서 무산되었다는 설도 있다. 어쨌든 마돈나가 나중에 인터뷰에서 밝히기로는 가사의 일부분을 자신이 쓰고 마이클과 듀엣을 하기로 했으나 자신이 쓴 노래의 가사가 너무 선정적이여서 마이클이 반대하는 바람에 무산되었다고 한다.[1]앞부분의 내래이션 인트로를 스테파니 모나코 공주가 담당했다. 스테파니 공주는 당시 소니 산하의 레이블인 에픽 레코드에서 앨범 발표를 준비하고 있었는데,[2] 마침 같은 레이블에서 제작된 마이클 잭슨 음반에 피쳐링에 참여할 기회를 잡았다. 발매 당시에는 이름이 공개되지 않은 채 'Mystery Girl'이라고만 크레딧에 나와 있었고, 시간이 지난 후에 공개되었다. 뮤직비디오에는 당대 최고의 모델이었던 나오미 캠벨이 출연했다.
