1. 개요
The Beatles의 Side D 첫 번째에 수록된 비틀즈의 노래.들어 보면 알 수 있듯 Hey Jude의 싱글 B면으로 발매된 Revolution의 초기 버전이다. 존은 원래 이 곡의 느린 블루스 록 버전을 싱글로 발매하려 했지만, 나머지 멤버들이 빠른 템포의 록 버전의 곡으로 만들어 그걸 싱글로 내자는 의견을 내어 이 곡은 결국 화이트 앨범에 모습을 드러냈다.
가사는 초기 버전이라 정식 버전과 달리 폭력 혁명에 대해 다소 애매한 입장을 취하고 있다. 그리고 싱글 버전과 달리 백보컬이 삽입되어 있는 것도 차이점.

Revolution 1에서는 "count me out, in"이라며 in을 덧붙여서, 동참할지 말지 마음을 정하지 못한 갈등의 상태를 표현했다. 그러나 이후에 녹음한
Revolution에선 in을 빼버려서, 폭력적인 방법이라면 참여하지 않겠다는 결심을 확고히 보여준다. 다만 Revolution의 프로모셔널 비디오에선 존이 작게 in이라 하는 모습이 보인다.
