SYNOPSIS: THE INSANITY SERIES PTS1, 2 & 3
한 교통사고는 일련의 살인의 촉매제가 되고 정확한 목표에 집착하는 강박적인 외과의의 전국적인 사냥이 된다.
사람과 동물의 신체부위가 함께 꿰매지고 이식되는 비인도적이고 생생한 수술적 모독과 새롭게 형성된 물리적 구조(비버섹트)가 살아 움직이는 것을 보여주는 모호한 영상들이 시청자들의 경외심과 분노로 인터넷을 가득 매웠다. 이 영상에 대한 기원과 진위여부에 대한 추측이 무성하지만, 미디어에서 도출한 통상적 결론은 이 영상이 아직 발표되지 않은 영화를 위한 가짜 홍보/홍보용 스턴트라는 것이다.
뉴스거리가 될 만한 사건이 여러 번 일어난 후, 불가해한 것은 현실인 걸로 알려졌고, 그 미지의 외과의는 한때 교통사고로 인해 정신적으로 장애가 있고 불한정한 상태로 조기 은퇴를 강요받았던 유명한 의학자인 에드가 게디로 밝혀졌다.
'광기'는 비극, 오심, 탈바꿈, 형제애와 의리, 복수, 개인적 도덕적 선택 대 사회적 도덕적 구성, 정체성, 자연에 대한 잘못된 인간의 간섭 등 많은 주제를 다룬다. 이 이야기는 일반적인 호러 스토리지만 의로운 길을 택하지 않은 선택의 장기적인 인과관계, 그들의 의심스러운 원리에 대한 부동의적인 믿음을 가진 사람들의 더 깊은 심리, 그리고 다른 사람들이 그것에 대해 행동하도록 유도하는 영향력을 조사하는 연구이기도 하다.
파트 1

그가 조심스럽게 수감된 감옥에서 탈출할 방법을 고안하면서, 붕대로 감긴 남자는 왜 그가 수감자로 선택되었는지, 그이 납치범인 게디와 생물의 역사에 대해 더 많이 알게 되고, 결국 그의 기억을 되찾게 되고, 이것은 놀라운 사실을 내게 된다.
PART 2
Prelude
Peter Langdon is an investigative journalist at the forefront of the ‘Geddy Murders’ speculation. He is known for being an adamant cynic, and this is especially true with the Geedy case- strongly refuting claims of it’s authenticity in his news articles. Little does he know that he and his family have a strong connection with Geedy.
A letter arrives on his doorstep from Geedy himself. An invite to meet Geedy privately, who is stepping forward to ‘tell the truth’ and wants Langdon to break the story to the world..
Geedy uses a rouse; he claims the videos are fake and wants Langdon to film a revealing documentary. Langdon is and his film crew go ahead to a fixed location to set up with the plan that he would arrive on the following day and Geedy would film his confession on camera. When Langdon arrives, what seemed to be a casual conversation with the to-be outed Geedy takes a horrific turn when one of Geedy:s vivisects bursts into the room and takes Langdon prisoner. An unconscious Langdon is then moved to the Edwardian mansion featured in the first chapter of the story.
He wakes up on the floor of a prayer room and finds a note taunting him about his doubts on the legitimacy of the Geedy story, and stating that Langdon will soon shed all his disbelief.
Langdon makes his way through the house and one by one discovers his film crew have been tortured and become vivisects themselves by Geedy and his associates.
After a number of trials, Langdon eventually frees himself from the mansion and exposes his experience to various media outlets, and the story of Dr.Geddy becomes the next world headline. Peter is interviewed on many media platforms and shares his experiences in the house. Six months later he is recaptured by Geedy and this time becomes the subject of Geedys latest filmed surgical undertaking.
PART 3
Part 3 elucidates the history of Edward Geddy his connection to the Langdon family.
The first scene takes place sometime before all of the first and second stories events. Nathan Langdon, the older brother of Peter- is the perpetrator of a DUI car crash of whom his victims are Edward and Jonathan Geddy. Fear and lack of witnesses lead Langdon to believe he can escape the scene, and leaves the Geddy brothers to die. But unbeknownst to Langdon, Edward Geddy survives the horrific car crash, and remains alive albeit brain-damaged. During his recovery, Geddy becomes highly influenced by his final memories, a read through of ‘The Island of Dr.Moreau’ - the book he was just finishing as Langdon’s car hit his and sent him and his brother off a ravine. Geddy starts to dwell on the idea of creating vivisects as Dr.Moreau did in the fictional tale, an idea that rapidly dominates his already fast fading sanity. He also plans a means of getting revenge on Nathan, whom he detects as the cause of the accident and his brother’s death.
Five years later.
Some time after the first and second story. Nathan Langdon, has gotten an anonymous tip (from Geedy) that the now reclusive Geedy has retreated to an alienated island somewhere off the north coast of the Orkney Isles and travels there in the hope of discovering the whereabouts of his brother Peter, who’s surgery video was never released and was known to have associations with Geedy when he was last seen. He is told in the letter to come alone, without informing any authorities, or risk his brothers life.
The island has a minimal population and the islanders are known to have unique beliefs.
It quickly becomes clear to N.Langdon that the islanders are supporting Geddy in his endeavours and due to their Pagan upbringing see him as something of an evangelist of their faith. Having been invited to live in the island Geddy was able to set up an HQ and have the support of the islanders for several years. N.Langdon realises the tip was a set up and being trapped on the cold island with little hope of escaping undetected, proceeds on a journey to find his brother and rescue him from the hands of his psychopathic host.

5. 비버섹트
비버섹트들은 에드가 프렌들리와 그의 조수들의 완벽한 피조물을 만들려는 계획에 납치당한 불쌍한 사람들이다. 에드가는 그들의 몸 구조를 재배치하거나 동물의 신체 일부를 이식하고 마약으로 그들의 인간성과 기억을 지워 괴물로 만든다. 그들 대다수가 수술 완료 이후로는 오래 살아남지 못한다. 에드가는 실험체들을 만드는 과정을 비디오로 촬영하고 인터넷에 올리는 것을 즐긴다. 이 비디오는 너무 끔찍하기에 일반적인 홈페이지가 아닌 쇼크 비디오 페이지 등에서만 업로드 되며, 그 결과 점점 에드가는 주목받게 된다.덤으로, 이 비버섹트 중 일부는 예전 EvilKris씨가 만들었던 'The Damned'란 플래시의 괴물을 차용한것이다.

5.1. 광기 1 등장 개체
- 수감자(The Prisoner)
17번째 비버섹트이다. 다른 비버섹트에게 자신의 신체들이 이식되어 오체불만족 상태로 주인공을 맞이하며 결과는...그래픽 노블판에서는 사지가 멀쩡하게 등장한다.
- 조각상(The Statue)
이 괴물은 콘스탄틴 조각상처럼 만들어진 것이다. 외모는 심각할 정도로 그로테스크하다. 또한 인게임 내에서 15초 가량 만나보게 되는 괴물이며, 설정상 9번째로 탄생된 괴물이다.
- 치유사(The Clinician)
에드가의 동료로 추정되는 자이다. 과학자이며, 비버섹트 제작 중 희생자의 기억 제거를 담당하는 듯. 에드가의 협력자인 만큼 인간에 가까운 형태이지만, 얼굴은 원숭이의 모양을 하고 있다. 드물게도 비버섹트 중에 뚜렷하게 말을 할 수 있는 비버섹트이다. 설정상 3번째 비버섹트이다.
- 지하도귀(The Tunnel Monster)
에드가의 또 다른 창조물. 그는 외과적으로 변형된 희생자인데, 반은 숫염소, 반은 침팬지의 모습을 하고 있다.
- 피조물(The Creature) → 부리괴수(The Beak)
페이크 최종보스이다. 처음 '수감자'를 죽이는게 이 녀석. 처음 주인공은 이 녀석을 '의사'로 알고 있었지만 사실은..그래픽 노블판에서는 이름이 변경되었고 수감자를 쪼아죽여 뇌를 파먹는다.
- 알렉산더
알렉산더(또는 랫페이스)는 외과적으로 변형된 희생자이다. 그는 광기2에서도 인간으로 출연한다. 그는 정비공이었는데, 침입자들을 위한 트랩을 만들 것을 강요받았다. 또한 그는 연주를 잘하는 피아니스트이기도 하다.[2] 그는 프로젝트 K에게 베인 이후 죽는다. 그는 15번째로 만들어진 비비섹트이다.
욕실에 있던 그의 찢어진 살거죽을 가진 희생자는 프렌들리에 의해 만들어진 14번째 희생자이다.

His body is tailored for collosal endurance and power. Stimulated calcium reinforced bones.Economy of osteodermic ridging along the limbs. Intense training and stereoid orthopedic protein synthesis and strict training regime results in lost agility, but made up for in raw power. There's no human with his strength. To our disappointment the brain deterioration was far gone, he is severly mentally retarded, and a mishap in surgery resulted in his much losing of his vocal facilities. Periodically needs to remaintain muscular stability therefore is in stasis recovery chamber at the time of this log.
이 녀석은 원래 더 댐드의 에빌 K라는 중간보스로 출연했었고, 당연하게도 프렌들리의 첫번째 비버섹트이다. 전투력이나 덩치로 인한 힘과 방어력 때문에 쉽게 죽이기가 어렵다고.
